Sangiovese from the Chalmers family vineyard in Heathcote, Victoria. The Chalmers family were among the first to plant Italian varietals in Australia and their experience really shows in this wine.
Made in a minimal intervention style by Matt Aulich - this shines as a modern exemplar of what Sangiovese can acheive in Australia. Light on its feet but with no shortage of structure, and lashings of sour cherries and cassis.
