Grosses Gewächs Riesling is essentially the Grand Cru of German Riesling - only made by the best producers, with fruit from the best site. Importantly, it is also made in a dry style.
This is a beautiful example from the cool Saar region of the Mosel River Valley. The steepest site of the family's holdings, the vineyard was actually abandoned as it was so complicated to work before being restored in recent years. White peach, lemon peel and yellow apple mix with the classic aged Riesling characters of Beeswax and Honey
