A captivating wine which demands attention - big, ripe plums and raspberries lead the charge, followed by a dash of forest floor and a vanguard of racy minerality tinged with smoke. As with most wines from volcanic soils, this has an aggressive, raw streak to it. Drinking alongside a wee plate of cured meats does a long way to temper this and show a softer side to the wine
